01.07.2005
Broadband provider Be has announced the launch of its new UK-based broadband
service 'Be home 24 meg'.
The new service provides users with speeds of up to 24 Mb/s and 24 hour per
day access to the Internet using the free wireless Be Box modem, the company
said.
Each one of Be's 24 Mb lines is able to stream two High Definition TV (HDTV)
channels, as well as three or four standard TV or Video-on-Demand channels and
still offers enough bandwidth for surfing and voice calls (VoIP).
To sign up with Be, users need a BT telephone line that is connected to an
exchange in which Be has installed its equipment. A connection fee of GBP24 is
required, with the service itself costing GBP24 per month. No annual contract
is required.
